A lot of our friends/family back home have been having babies, or are going to be having babies soon. So in any spare time I’ve had, I’ve been trying to get lots of sewing in. I’ve been having lots of fun refining my sewing skills and trying new things. My dream is that someday I’ll be able to work with women, using this as a ministry!
This quilt-top is for some friends of ours that are due really soon! They don’t know what they’re having, so I used lots of colors so it could go either way. This was lots of fun to make! It’s been mailed off to the quilter and she’ll add a warm and fuzzy back to it!

The other quilt I recently finished was sent to Chris’ brother and sister-in-law who recently had a baby boy. This was the second time I’ve attempted to do the actual “quilting” myself. I don’t love the way it turns out – my machine isn’t made for quilting, so it works ok but gets a little bunchy.

Well, over break I’ve had lots of fun on my sewing machine. The blog world has opened my eyes up to “the craft blog world”. I find a good portion of my days sitting and looking at what other people make, and I’m amazed.
One thing that is wonderful about the crafting blog world, is that everyone is so generous and they post free tutorials, so I can learn how to make these goodies too!
So, today I thought I’d share with you some of the fun things I’ve been making these days! As you’ll see I decided to take a little break from quilts and try a few other things. But I need to get back to the quilts soon, some very important people need one by November!

- I made this for our friends’ daughter’s birthdays – I think I’ll make a few more, they were fun!

- I made this for myself. It was fun to make, but took too long!
And since I’ve actually been sewing (Chris wasn’t so sure I actually would), he got me a shelf to put all my craft supplies on!

- Isn’t it beautiful?! I know it’s small, but we live in a very tiny apartment, so it works perfectly!
